I'm not sure what it was, but I always thought Bob Dylan was dead. The way that people talked about him and the musicians that are supposed to be operating in his legacy always gave me the impression that the guy was all deaded.

Oh-- I knew this! I read somewhere that some preschool kids in Southern California complained of being creeped out by some weird old guy who kept singing in their classroom, and that the old guy turned out to be Bob Dylan (the grandfather of one of their classmates). We do speak of him kind of absently, though; as if he were one of the great exalted ancients.
